How do I get a university card?
Once you are confirmed as a student you will be emailed a link to the application website which will include your username and password. If you do not receive this email then you can apply via the University Card.
To apply for your card, you will need:
-
A digital photo of yourself
-
Your username and password (see above)
-
To visit the online University Card Photo Upload System
If you don't have a digital photo of yourself, then you can visit the Security Office behind the Hallward Library at University Park Campus and have your photo taken there.
Where do I get my card from?
If you are a new student arriving in September and have uploaded your photo before coming to Nottingham then your card will be ready for you to collect at registration. If you have not uploaded your photo then your photo will be taken at the registration event and your card will be ready a few days later.
If you are attending the Welcome Programme for international students, you will collect your card during the week and if you have not uploaded a photo before you arrived, will have the opportunity to do this at the Security Office.
If you are a new student arriving in January or at any other time during the year your card will be available to collect in your University accommodation or if you are staying in private accommodation, you can collect your card from your school office. It you have not uploaded your photo the first step is to visit the Security Office located behind the Hallward Library on University Park Campus to have your photo taken. The staff there will advise you when your card will be ready and where to collect it.
What about study abroad/exchange students?
Study abroad and exchange students coming to Nottingham in the spring semester should collect their University Cards from their University accommodation or, if they are staying in private accommodation, from their school/department in Nottingham - if they have uploaded their photograph to the website prior to arrival.
All other students should visit the Security Office behind Hallward Library to arrange to have their photograph taken and a card issued to them.
How do I use my card?
Your card is used:
-
as a means of identifying you
-
to ensure you have access to various parts of the University
Your access rights are determined by your school or faculty.
What do I do if I lose my card?
If your card has been lost or damaged, or has the wrong information on, then you can request a replacement.
You may be required to pay a fee of £15 for a replacement card. If your card has been lost or stolen then you must report this as soon as possible to the University Card Office.
