Nursing19 May 2006 Diabetic Foot GuideThe National Diabetes Support Team have published a Diabetic Foot Guide. It is thought that worldwide around half of all foot ulcers and amputations in people with diabetes could be prevented. With this in mind this report aims to be a comprehensive guide to improving foot care for people with diabetes, looking at screening and prevention, care pathways, multidisciplinary working and workforce and skills.

4 May 2006 NMC- Standards of proficiency for nurse and midwife prescribersThe Nursing and Midwifery COuncil has published Standards of proficiency for nurse and midwife prescribers The publication replaces all previous requirements issued by the four National Boards for Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.In addition, it provides standards of conduct that nurses, midwives and specialist community public health nurses are required to meet in their practice as a registered nurse prescriber.

27 April 2006 RCN - Position Statement on Malnutrition in childrenThe Royal College of Nursing has published Malnutrition (What nurses working with children and young people need to know and do) : An RCN position statement It states that nurses who work with children and young people have an important role in identifying whether children are at risk of malnutrition and monitoring it. This position statement is aimed at all such nurses in GP practices, outpatient departments, hospitals, health centres and schools.
