Overview

Greenfield Medical Library (GML) provides a range of library and information services to employees of Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trusts. We are located on A Floor of the University Medical School, close to Blackwell's Medical Bookshop. 

The Library contains the University's principal collection of literature in basic medical sciences and clinical subjects' as well as nursing, midwifery and the allied health professions. It is partly funded by University Hospital and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trusts and staff working in these Trusts may borrow from all branch Libraries within the University Library system.Greenfield Medical Library maintains strong links with medical libraries in neighbouring hospitals and readers, whose place of work is some distance away, are encouraged to take advantage of this inter-library cooperation. Students on clinical placement, may also register with the library in the Postgraduate Medical Education Centre, City Hospital, Nottingham, which houses a collection of nursing, midwifery and physiotherapy textbooks and journals. They may also borrow from the Library at Duncan Macmillan House, Mapperley, Nottingham, which maintains a collection of mental health nursing texts and journals.

Closing Procedures

• Last entry to the library is 15 minutes before closing time.
• A tannoy will be used to announce the closing procedures, starting 30 minutes before closing time.
