More information about these services may be found on this workspace.

Video.nottingham

The video.nottingham service allows you to create your own podcasts. Students can subscribe to your podcast via RSS feeds and be notified when you produce new media items (also known as episodes). If you simply wish to use the service to host video for students to watch (e.g. in webct), the procedure is still the same.

How to use video.nottingham:

  1. Register for a user login by completing the online form. You must have a valid University username to use the system. Currently the system is open only to staff.
  2. Once you have submitted the form, you will receive login information by email, usually within 24 hours. If you do not receive an email please email ui-lecture-capture.
  3. Go to video.nottingham to login and begin using the service.

Digital Audio Recording Kits

Digital audio recording kits are available to staff for recording the audio from lectures and other activities. Recordings can be made in mp3 format and files can be easily published to WebCT using the podcasting uploader (available from the WebCT course 'WebCT for University of Nottingham Staff'). Kits are available from Teaching room support.

Interactive Teaching Rooms

There are a number of Interactive Teaching Rooms across the University campuses with lecture recording facilities that allow video podcasts, screencasts and audio podcasts to be created easily. More information about Interactive Teaching Rooms is available.

Publishing to iTunes U or YouTube

The University has official iTunes U and YouTube sites. To submit your content, please use the YouTube/iTunes U Audio/Visual content submission form.

Vice-Chancellor Professor David Greenaway says “iTunes U provides a wonderful opportunity to make available - to a global audience - some of the resources our inspiring educators and staff produce. I hope you enjoy the rich array of video and audio programmes available on our iTunes channel and that it gives you a revealing insight into the international Nottingham experience. “

If you are interested in making video or audio content that you have produced available via either of these channels, or if you would like to discuss an idea for creating new content, please email itunesu@nottingham.ac.uk
