Who is the service for?
The HPC facility is available to any research student or member of academic staff, from any School or Faculty, who has the need for compute resource substantially greater than a standard PC.
This includes those who can run their applications on a PC, but find the calculations tie up their machine for an excessive amount of time, as well as those who need more processors and/or computer memory.
What does the service cost?
Free at point of use.
Researchers that have specialist HPC requirements (such as dedicated compute nodes, additional security, etc.) will need to discuss their requirements further, as there will usually be an additional cost involved for this.
How do I access the service?
Information about accessing the HPC service is available on the HPC Workspace (log in required).
Help and support
The HPC Workspace includes documentation on how to access and use the service as well as information on training courses, background information and links to further information.
