Office 365 suite of applications and productivity services for all staff and students.

All staff and students have access to Office 365. The log in is the format of your University email address:

  • Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students: username@nottingham.ac.uk
  • Postgraduate Researchers and Staff: firstname.lastname@nottingham.ac.uk

Training and roadshows for staff

Staff roadshows

Between May and November over 1000 staff attended roadshows. Roadshows consist of a short presentation, followed by the opportunity to get hands-on with the features of Office 365. Upcoming roadshows:

What is Office 365

Office 365 refers to the suite of Microsoft applications that are delivered via the cloud. Access to Office 365 applications will enable access to an exciting range of communication and collaboration tools that can transform the way we work across our global University.

Access to the Office 365 applications is available for the duration of your work or studies at the University of Nottingham.

What applications can I use?

The Office 365 applications available will vary depending if you are a student or staff member.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students
  • Outlook (web access)
  • Office Online (Word Excel, Powerpoint)
  • OneDrive (1TB of file storage)
  • OneNote (digital note taking application)
  • Forms (custom quizzes, surveys, questionnaires)
  • Planner (track tasks and progress)
  • Yammer (private social network)
  • Delve (connects users to relevant contacts/content)
  • Sway (visual presentation tool)

Groups allow you to create workgroup and task specific areas within your Office 365 environment. Groups have their own conversations, file storage, OneNote notebooks and a group calendar.

Creating a Group also creates a Planner plan, which you can also use via Planner if you need to visualise tasks and work in your group.
