Disability Information

Institute Support

The Institute is committed to promoting access for students who have a disability, dyslexia and/or a long-term medical condition. Services provided aim to enable students to fulfil the inherent requirements of the course as independently as possible

The Institite's Disability Liaison Officer (DLO) is Fiona Gavin.

University Support

The University offers a range of academic and practical support for all students through its Academic Support Team. This incorporates specialist Disability and Dyslexia Support teams as well as a recognised Assessment Centre for those who wish to apply for Disabled Students' Allowances. It also makes recommendations for alternative arrangements for examinations and assessments, and for timetabling, as well as assisting with queries about adapted accommodation and University provision of accessible transport.

Students' Union Support

The Students' Union Association: Disability Action exists to represent the interests of disabled students at The University of Nottingham. Its aims are to promote equality of opportunity and to ensure that students with disabilities can participate in all aspects of University life. The Association also provides information, support and advice as well as organising a range of social, sporting and other activities during the year.
