What our students say...
You're actually hearing from widely recognised experts in their field who are leading research... I'm already finding that back in my workplace, I'm applying a whole range of new ideas and theories.
It has broadened my knowledge to what occupational health is all about...I think it's about looking at the culture of the workplace and what we can do as Occupational Health Advisors to change that.
Theresa is an Occupational Health Nurse Specialist. Read what Theresa says about the course.
Alex works as a Occupational Hygienist for Corus Group. Read what Alex says about the course
Andrew is group health and safety manager in a multinational company. Read what Andrew says about the course.
Each year one or two graduates of the MSc in Workplace Health and Wellbeing choose to further explore the topic addressed in their MSc research project by registering for a PhD.
For example, Paul Madgwick (class of 2010) used the MSc research project module to explore characteristics of construction workers that are associated with the adoption of sun safety behaviours when working outdoors.
Paul’s MSc study was subsequently published in Occupational Medicine (Madgwick, Houdmont, & Randall, 2011) and in April 2011 he commenced a part time PhD on the development and evaluation of a sun safety intervention for the UK construction sector.
