Taking your studies futher: continuing to PhD

Each year one or two graduates of the MSc in Workplace Health and Wellbeing choose to further explore the topic addressed in their MSc research project by registering for a PhD.

For example, Paul Madgwick (class of 2010) used the MSc research project module to explore characteristics of construction workers that are associated with the adoption of sun safety behaviours when working outdoors.

Paul’s MSc study was subsequently published in Occupational Medicine (Madgwick, Houdmont, & Randall, 2011) and in April 2011 he commenced a part time PhD on the development and evaluation of a sun safety intervention for the UK construction sector.
