Visitor information

If you are visiting the University for an interview or just to have a look around take a look at useful dates and campus information .

Retail and finance

Most campuses provide shops, banks, restaurants and cafeterias for your convenience. Portland building ─ on University Park Campus ─ is the main hub of activity, housing shops, banks, bars and restaurants.

Annual leave

As an employee of The University of Nottingham your annual leave will be significantly more that the statutory minimum. The actual amount that you receive will depend on the job that you apply for.

 

Discounts and shopping vouchers

Staff can take advantage of a wide range of discounts with a variety of retailers, products and services, including discount on:

  • shopping vouchers (with top high street names such as Sainsbury's, B&Q, Asda etc)
  • days out
  • RAC membership

These are in addition to a private healthcare plan with BUPA or a Westfield Health cash plan.

Training and development

The University is committed to the development of its staff. Professional Development provides advice and a programme of short courses and accredited qualifications for all groups of staff. These include:

All staff are encouraged to attend courses, most of which are free of charge.

 

Work-life Balance

A number of benefits support work-life balance. These include:

Travel

The University supports a Cyclescheme , which offers staff the opportunity to purchase tax free bicycles and cycle equipment for travel to work.

On-site Parking

All sites offer parking facilities. From 1 September 2011, a parking levy will apply depending on salary level and vehicle emissions. Further information is available on the Estates Office web site.

Pension

We have a number of attractive pension packages. The three main schemes are:

  • Universities Superannuation Scheme
  • Contributory Retirement Savings Plan (CRSP)
  • NHS Pension Scheme

Other pension benefits include:
