Programme overview

Details of the full programme can be found here.

This year JVRC will have scientific and industrial tracks running in parallel.  Demos and poster sessions will run between the tracks so that everyone is able to see as much as possible.  The exhibition will be open for both days.

Scientific Track

This track will include presentations of original, unpublished long and short papers and posters documenting new research contributions, practice and experience, or novel applications, from all areas of virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality and 3D user interfaces. Speakers of long papers will have up to 25 minutes of presentation time with 8 minutes of discussion and transition.  Speakers of short papers will have up to 15 minutes of presentation time with 6 minutes of discussion and transition.

Industrial Track

This track includes a series of presentations relating to industrial applications of the technologies.  Two workshops focused on industrial issues will take place.

On Tuesday 20th Sept there will be a workshop on "VR/AR/MR and the future of PLM".  This event organised by the FP7 EU project ManuVAR will include speakers from industry describing how VR/AR/MR is being used to support PLM in their organisations and the future of such technologies in manufacturing.  This will be followed by a discussion panel of experts to discuss some of the issues further. Download the workshop flyer.

On Wednesday 21st sept, there will be a workshop on "Accessibility engineering with user models, simulation and VR".  This event is the second annual workshop of the VERITAS project and the Cluster on Virtual User Modelling and Simulations (VUMS). The integrated project VERITAS and the specific targeted research projects MyUI, GUIDE and VICON work on the design and development of accessible and assistive products.  The workshop reports on intermediate results of the projects and provides discussion on further developments.

Poster Sessions

There will be open sessions for posters during breaks and at lunch time over the two days.  A 2 hour session between 15:45 - 17:45 on Tuesday 20th September is also available for viewing and discussing posters with the authors.  A Fast-Forward session will take place on the morning of Wednesday 21st September between 9:15 - 10:15.  All the poster authors will be given 2 minutes to present their poster to the conference attendees.  View the list of accepted posters.
