Public Procurement PhD Studentship - Applications invited

Applications are invited for a three year post-graduate research studentship in public procurement law, leading to the degree of PhD, to commence in October 2015. This is offered on a full-time basis, and is open to applications from Home, EU and International candidates. The closing date for applications is 31 July 2015.

The scholarship covers full fees and a maintenance grant of £14,057 per annum. It is available for a period of one year initially, with the continuation of funding being granted subject to satisfactory progress on the degree programme.

The successful candidate will work within the University’s Public Procurement Research Group (PPRG) in the School of Law, under the supervision of Professor Sue Arrowsmith or one of her colleagues. Applicants are expected to propose their own topic for research within the area of public procurement law. They may seek advice on the suitability of topics from Professor Arrowsmith prior to submitting their application. Please email Sue.Arrowsmith@nottingham.ac.uk regarding this matter.

Applicants should have a first class or second upper class honours degree, or the overseas equivalent. They will also be required to have (or be in progress of obtaining) a masters degree with an average mark of 65% for the taught element (or overseas equivalent), preferably in the field of law or another social science subject. Knowledge of public procurement law is an advantage but not essential.
