PhD Student, Faculty of Social Sciences
Dominik Steinmeir is a PhD student in Law and Politics at the University of Nottingham since 2013. He holds an MA in International Law, Security and Terrorism (with distinction) from the University of Nottingham and a BA in International Development from the University of Vienna, Austria. He also spent some time at the University of Konstanz, Germany, taking classes in International Administration and Conflict Management.
Prior to his postgraduate research studies he worked for Crisis Action Berlin as a Research and Campaigns Assistant, focusing primarily on the conflicts in Syria and Mali, and for the emergency services of the Austrian Red Cross, both in medical and administrative roles.
Dominik's research focuses on the interactions of international law and politics in the global war on terror. He primarily looks at the global and regional dimensions of countering jihadism.
Dominik is funded by the School of Law Scholarship and supervised by Nigel White (School of Law) and Andrew Mumford (School of Politics)
