Susan Russell is a Nottingham Law School graduate and qualified as a solicitor in 1982, She originally practised as a shipping and commercial arbitration lawyer and then joined Lloyd's of London as an in-house litigation solicitor before moving back to private practice as a partner specialising in reinsurance and insurance litigation in a firm of London solicitors.
Susan moved back to Nottingham in 2000 and joined Eversheds as a Senior Practice Lawyer where her role included advising on technical procedural issues and training other lawyers. She subsequently joined the Law School as an external tutor and in 2013 took up the role of Legal Skills Advisor. She also teaches on the Common Law module.
Susan sits as a Deputy District Judge in county courts in the North East region and is a lead tutor on a professional distance learning course in personal injury law. She is also accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority as a trainer.
