 Displaced

This module will introduce and explore the main features of international refugee law and related practice, as well as the law, policy and practice concerning internally displaced persons.

The United Nations estimates that there are over 9 million refugees worldwide and many million more persons of concern. Displacement continues to be one of the most important and pressing human rights issues facing the international community, and sits at the intersection of conflict, peace and respect for human rights.

This course will critically examine the legal protection regime in law and practice, with broad opportunity for class discussion and review of recent case law.
