MSc Law and Environmental Science
Class of 2005/06
Before coming to Nottingham, I had finished my undergraduate degree (BSc Biology, hons) from Bristol in 2004 and spent several months working in London and 2.5 months volunteering on a Parrott conservation reserve in Argentina.
I was drawn to Nottingham because it has a great reputation, especially the Law department and I really liked the course that I chose there (which enabled me to combine science and law studies across faculties). This offered be a more rounded understanding of environmental issues and understanding the drivers behind law / policy. The campus is great – which was also a factor in me choosing Nottingham.
Since graduating, I have been working as an Environmental Consultant for a company called RPS in London for 3 years. Specialising in Contaminated Land first of all, and more recently working on more sustainability focused projects.
I had a great time on the course and met many great people on my course, which had wide range of students in terms of age and where they were from. This mean we had lots of opinions / viewpoints when in seminars etc.
The Course definitely enabled me to further my career in the Environment Sector and I look back at my time in Nottingham fondly!
