Our Key Performance Indicators

Customer satisfaction in key strategic surveys

Each year we aim to:

  • Meet or exceed our previous year’s satisfaction score for library-related questions in six key strategic surveys
  • Meet or exceed the Russell Group average satisfaction score for library-related questions in the National Student Survey and Student Barometer Survey

Deliver value for money through the efficient and effective use of resources

Each year we aim to:

  • Maintain or improve the effectiveness of our expenditure on library staff per FTE user in relation to the Russell Group
  • Maintain or improve the effectiveness of our expenditure on print and electronic resources in relation to the Russell Group

A distinctive service committed to achieving the University’s Vision for 2020

Each year we will:

  • Actively engage our students in decision-making and the development of our collection through focus groups, surveys and user-selected texts.  The feedback we receive helps us to provide the resources you need and to meet changing expectations
  • Continue to change the way we work with our students by employing students to help us deliver our services (Library Ambassadors), and making students active partners in projects through our Students as Change Agents scheme and by supporting student placements
  • Enhance the quality and impact of our academics research through strategic engagement with Schools and Faculties.  These partnerships will help us maximise the impact and dissemination of research and develop library collections that are aligned to research priorities
  • Grow our partnerships with schools and faculties to support teaching and learning in new and innovative ways
  • Help sustain and improve the communities in which we are located.  Our programme of class visits and activities provides local schools the opportunity to experience university facilities, discover new subjects, and bridge the skills and learning style gap between secondary and university education.  Our collections are available to members of the public through our Weston Gallery exhibitions and by visiting our libraries in person
  • Embed internationalisation through our tri-campus online learning environment and library systems. Support our international campuses to optimise their use of these systems
