IMPORTANT NOTICE BELOW

The Medical Engineering Unit has now been discontinued and its services are now provided by the Central Engineering Workshop. Any initial enquiries for the Central Engineering Workshop can be made with Andrew Plummer, who you can contact here.

The Medical Engineering Unit (MEU) was formed in 1969 and since then has been engaged in the manufacture of bespoke specialist equipment used in academic and medical research and in the commercial arena. The MEU is renowned for providing its customers with the highest level of quality and service.

Today, based within the School of Life Sciences in The University of Nottingham’s Medical School, Queen’s Medical Centre, the MEU has developed into a multi-skilled operation, with diverse, but cohesive, abilities. This allows the MEU to mount a rapid and active response to the requirements of research and industry, offering one-off prototyping through to small batch production.

Thanks to the integration of 3D modelling, CAD/CAM systems, advanced equipment and the existence of a highly skilled workforce, the Medical Engineering Unit is able to design and build high-quality equipment and medical devices to customer requirements. Our manufacturing capabilities are complemented by ISO quality control and regulatory systems. We produce a comprehensive range of products for laboratory, research and hospital customers. The MEU continually strive for excellence and embrace innovative approaches to manufacturing in order to provide a personal service to its customers.
