Current Research

Having worked on microbial pathogenesis and mononuclear phagocyte function I recently joined the Metabolic Physiology Research Group. I am interested in the roles of inflammation for muscle repair and insulin resistance, using interventional studies.

Past Research

bacterial pathogenesis; bacteria-host cell interaction; mononuclear phagocytes; Lyme borreliosis; Leishmaniosis; Brucellosis; Helicobacter pylori; meningococci; LPS and lipid rafts

Future Research

inflammation, metabolics, physiology, interventional studies, muscle biopsies, microcatheters, microbubble ultrasound
