HE Archives Hub

The Archives Hub provides online access to archives and manuscripts for education and research across the UK. It is a collaborative resource, funded by JISC (the Joint Information Systems Committee). Further information about the resource, and its contributors, can be found on the Archives Hub website.

Many of the descritions on the Archives Hub are at Collection level. Collection level records provide key elements of data about archival holdings. The sources can range in size from an extensive institutional archive or a family and estate collection in many hundreds of boxes to an organisation's single surviving volume. Such summary descriptions provide an excellent route for researchers attempting to locate material in different institutions and to discover its relevance to their area of study.

The University of Nottingham has contributed to the Archive Hub in two stages (1999-2000 and 2002-2004). There are now records for over 400 of its collections on the Hub, searchable alongside records from other institutions. Further descriptions will be contributed by Nottingham to the Archives Hub as routine cataloguing continues.
