The school would like to wish all the very best of luck to Mathematical Physics research associate Jenn Gaskell, who is taking part in the 2016 Tor des Géants 'ultra-running' endurance trial from 11-18 September.

This week-long event will cover no less than a total of around 336km (200 miles), with an altitude range of 24,000 metres (equivalent to three times the height of Everest). The trial starts and finishes in the Northern Italian town of Courmayeur with a route along the scenic Valle d'Aosta in the Italian Alps.

Jenn is no stranger to such events and completed the Tor des Géants back in 2014 as the first British racer overall. During the race, Jenn will be carrying a GPS tracker to allow supporters to see her position, which will appear on the Tor des Géants homepage in the second week of September.

Good luck, Jenn!
