Winner of the Professor K Andrew Cliffe Memorial Prize announced

Nathan-Sime-2014

Prof Ian Dryden, Nathan Sime and Prof David Riley

Congratulations to Nathan Sime for becoming the first winner of this prize.

The prize is presented in memory of the late Professor Andrew Cliffe, and is awarded to an outstanding second-year postgraduate student studying for a PhD in either Industrial and Applied Mathematics or in Scientific Computation in the School of Mathematical Sciences.

"Andrew worked closely with postgraduate students throughout his career and a named prize is a fitting way to honour his memory," Professor D S Riley, former Head of School for Mathematical Sciences.

Further to our article in March we would again like to thank family, friends and colleagues for contributing generously to the Prize fund.
