May Fest

The University's
free open day

Thousands joined us for May Fest 2015 on  Saturday 9 May!

Following six successful years The University of Nottingham opened its doors once again to the local community for May Fest 2015,  with free, interactive activities for all ages and interests.

My favourite thing was the Extreme Materials lecture. A man dropped a heavy weight and it broke a pane of glass. And he used a hammer to break another pane but it didn't work because there was glue on the other side of the glass!

Joshua, 7

So much to see and do! Entertaining and interesting to all of us: two 40 year olds, a 7 year old boy and a 5 year old girl. I can’t remember the last time that happened. The staff and students were enthusiastic and helpful, masses of hands-on stuff and quite a lot of sweets too!

Kate, 40

The Physics Buskers showed me how to put a kebab stick through a balloon without it popping!

Esme, 9
