- To identify and rank drivers and barriers to learning
- To undertake one micro-teaching sessions and evaluate peers
Lunch 12.30 to 13.00
- To define good teaching and consider the key factors influencing learning
- To identify the key features of effective lecturing
- To identify the key features of an effective PowerPoint presentation
- To promote active learning and use appropriate learning outcomes
- To create a lesson plan
Homework: To reflect on your first micro-teaching session using Gibb’s model of reflection (optional)
Day 2
- To identify the key features of effective small group teaching
- To define good practice in clinical teaching and describe models of clinical skills teaching
- To explain how to create effective handouts/teaching materials and student evaluation forms
- To describe the key features of effective feedback in one-to-one teaching
Lunch 12.30 to 13.00
- To undertake a second micro teaching sessions and evaluate peers
- To maximise the impact of experiential learning
