Current Research

My current research is regarding the development of the best method for hematoma volume analysis and perihematomal edema volume segmentation from CT brain images of patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage. In this study, we introducing the region growing technique using ITK SNAP software for hematoma volume estimation of various shapes, sizes and locations of intracerebral hematoma. This semi-automated method of volume measurement being compared to the widely used ABC/2 formula for reliability assessment and accuracy of volume estimation. CT brain images of pre and post injection of Tranexamic Acid from TICH2 clinical trial will be analyzed for any hematoma enlargement using the proposed method.
