Current Research

Auditory processing: Neural correlates of auditory perception. Cortical adaptation and frequency specificity. Complex temporal encoding of periodicity in the auditory brainstem. Models of the auditory periphery and brainstem. Central auditory representations of concurrent sounds. Integration of across frequency cues for sound localisation in the central auditory system.

Auditory processing with hearing loss and prostheses: Modelling central plasticity following hearing loss. Representations of degraded speech in the central auditory system. Modelling electrical stimulation of the auditory nerve. Audiovisual integration in cochlear implantees.

Psychophysics and behaviour: Frequency selectivity . Cross species comparisons of frequency selectivity, forward masking, fundamentals of signal detection. Dynamic models criterion setting in signal detection.
