Uche obtained his Medical (MBBS) degree from the Abia State University, Uturu, Nigeria and proceeded to do his internship at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Nigeria. After national service, he worked briefly as a GP before commencing his residency training as a Registrar in Public Health in Nigeria. He later moved to the UK where he did an MSc in Applied Epidemiology at the University of Nottingham.
He has skills in Research Methods, Epidemiology and Bio-Statistics, Data Organisation and Management in Epidemiology, Evaluation Techniques, Qualitative methodology and Advanced Epidemiology
Uche's research is basically on "The Cardiovascular and Metabolic Outcomes in Type 2 Diabetics on Insulin Therapy in the UK" using the THIN (The Health Improvement Network) database.
