Biography

Dr Taggar achieved his MBChB in 2002 from the University of Sheffield. Having developed experience in General Internal Medicine and cardiology he entered into the Nottingham GP Specialty Training Programme in 2008. He was awarded Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2012. Having combined GP training with an NIHR / NSPCR Academic Clinical Fellowship, he also passed a Masters degree in Applied Epidemiology in 2012. Dr Taggar works as a GP in Derbyshire and took up his current post as a clinical lecturer in the Division in September 2012.

Dr Taggar teaches on a number of courses run by the Division of Primary Care across all years of the medical curriculum involving topics such as ethics, consultation skills, communication and chronic disease management. He is also the course convener for the undergraduate final year GP attachment.
