Biography

Kevin has a long history of work within the healthcare industry, first within the Royal Air Force Medical Services and then the NHS. Having worked within the acute and community arms of the NHS, Kevin first joined the community based Falls & Bone Health Service for Nottingham CityCare Partnership in 2006. Kevin has initiated and developed the highly evidence based Postural Stability programme and a Chair Based Exercise trainer education programme. As a component of his clinical work, he noticed and investigated a clinical challenge in that older people's exercise adherence was not ideal. This was further investigated as part of his Master of Arts in Research Methods programme. As a direct result of this, Kevin is now training as a Doctoral Clinical Academic with the National Institute of Health Research / CLAHRC. His research study aims to develop an intervention whereby older people's exercise engagement is increased. This developed intervention will be fed into the NHS system with the aspiration that the quality of life for older people will improve and the number of falls that older people sustain will also reduce.
