PhD Student (Respiratory Medicine), Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences

I have gained BSc (Hons) and MSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences from Nottingham Trent University.

I have been given the opportunity to work on Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). The title of my PhD is "Application of a human primary epithelial-mesenchymal co-culture system to study fibrosis".

My project is looking into the effect of epithelial injury on mesenchymal behaviour in fibrosis. I have devised a model in which I can study the effect of the two cells and use transcriptional profiling to observe up-regulation or down-regulation of genes.
