Biography

I specialise in socio-technical aspects of ICTs, especially the implementation and sustainable adoption of digital health interventions. I joined the school in 2009 to work on the implementation of NPfIT's Electronic Prescription Service in community pharmacies. My role now in this honorary capacity is to conduct research, collaborate on grant applications, and supervise PhD and postgraduate projects.

My other works include being the founder of the news circulation group 'UK inter-university Digital Health Academics', which has a membership from 18 universities, NHS informatics groups and health policy organisations; an editorial board member of International Journal of Social Science Studies (IJSSS) and International Journal of Healthcare (IJH); and a reviewer for several other journals such as BMJ Open, Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy, and Digital Health.

Expertise Summary

What I am essentially interested in, is studying critical factors that could help shape and improve the technical/material systems on which people rely for information in health organisations.
