The Midlands Energy Consortium International Showcase, Nottingham, 5th October 2011
The MEC Annual Conference for 2011 took place in Nottingham at the National College of Learning and Teaching and hosted over 80 delegates.
Among the invited international speakers were experts and academics from China, India and Brazil, including Prof. Guangxi Yue from the Tsinghua University, Prof. Yuhan Sun from the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Science, Hema Rajakrishnan, representing the Madras School of Economics and Dr. Patil Balachandra from the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore.
The Conference featured experts from the local Universities, among them Prof. Roger Smith from the Loughborough University, Prof. Michele Clarke from the University of Nottingham and Dr Joe Wood from the University of Birmingham.
The event was opened by Prof. David Greenaway, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nottingham and consisted of 3 sessions: fossil energy, low carbon energy and rural energy.
