Drop-In Sessions

Drop-in sessions are an opportunity for students to use the centre facilities following initial teaching, to gain further practice in clinical skills.

There are two types of ‘drop-in’ sessions:

Module/Course Specific

These are arranged and supported by your course or module team. They aim to provide you with additional time to practice specific skills eg aseptic technique. The times and dates will be advertised by your course team.

Open Sessions

These are open sessions for any current University of Nottingham Healthcare student.

There is no need to book your attendance, simply view our calendar of drop-in sessions on the right of this page and come along. On arrival please sign the attendance register and speak to a member of staff regarding any what equipment you plan to use.

Under normal circumstances, there will be a technician in the centre (who may also be clearing/setting up future teaching sessions) and a member of teaching staff.

We will provide support as much as possible but please remember that initial teaching is usually not possible in these sessions.

Occasionally (prior to formal clinical examinations) we may become full, in which case we will close the entrance and display further information on the door regarding the arrangements.
