Our Learning Beyond Registration programme is a means by which health and social care professionals can develop their skills, knowledge and practice to ensure dynamic and contemporary patient care.

Visit the full online Learning Beyond Registration Prospectus.

Funded places are available to health and social care professionals working in the East Midlands (under certain conditions). These places are funded through the East Midlands Healthcare Workforce Deanery (Strategic Health Authority) contract with The University of Nottingham.

When student midwives qualify and begin their careers as practising midwives, Learning Beyond Registration is essential to enable them to meet the changing needs of childbearing women in society. Working autonomously as well as in partnership with others in health and social care teams requires the development of new skills, knowledge and ways of working. In response, we have liaised with healthcare practitioners to produce a portfolio of professional development programmes to assist individuals meet their changing learning challenges.

Midwives who already hold a degree have the opportunity to further develop their knowledge and skills by accessing the Postgraduate Diploma/ MSc in Midwifery. Graduate midwives undertaking this pathway are better equipped to pursue a career in relation to management, education, research and practice development.
