School Postgraduate Courses

Postgraduate Students 
 

MOL has a strong track record for delivering high-quality postgraduate education through its PhD training programmes and via eight taught MSc courses. We have one of the largest postgraduate taught course programmes available in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences with around 120 students per year. Our MSc teaching is recognised by professional bodies. The microbiology courses are accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science, while the Oncology course fulfils the curriculum for Higher Specialist Training in Medical Oncology set out by the Joint Committee on Higher Medical Training. Our current MSc degrees include:

World-leading research informs all of our postgraduate taught course provision and MSc students undertake their extensive laboratory based research projects in our state-of the art laboratories, social and study facilities located in the Centre for Biomolecular Sciences (www.nottingham.ac.uk/cbs), Queens Medical Centre and the City Hospital. Our research infrastructure, together with internationally acclaimed research active academic staff, ensures that our courses provide students with skills and knowledge fit to meet the demands of their future careers and studies.

In addition to our extensive taught course portfolio, the School offers PhD, DM and M.Phil research degrees. The school currently has around 80 postgraduate research students working on projects in molecular and cellular bacteriology, virology, immunology, haematology, pathology, human genetics and cancer.
