An innovative project to introduce and encourage young people in Nottingham to learn music and make music together has clinched nearly £575,000 funding from Arts Council England and the Department for Education.
Nottingham City Music Service will work in partnership with the University’s Department of Music and the professional orchestra sinfonia ViVA to launch the new In Harmony programme in September 2012. Under the programme, these organisations with work with four primary schools in the city to create music-making hubs - bringing together children, staff, families and local community in a wide range of projects, groups and performances.
