The Department of Music boasts a vibrant musical life with many opportunities for performances. All students are encouraged to participate.
On tuesdays and fridays, lunchtime during term-time, Music Society (Mussoc)members give free concerts at 1.15pm in the Djanogly Recital Hall. The series attracts a large and faithful audience, and anyone is welcome to attend. Mussoc members also perform in a concert series at the local Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC), providing an extended range of performance opportunities for students within the local community.
Lakeside is the University of Nottingham's unique public arts centre presenting an eclectic programme of music, dance, theatre, visual art, and family events all year round.
During term time, the Djanogly Recital Hall hosts a regular series of professional chamber music concerts with leading international artists – recent visiting artists have included Sir John Tomlinson, Peter Donohoe, the Fitzwilliam Quartet, Angela Hewitt and the Vogler String Quartet.
Up to 11 free tickets are available to music students and members of Mussoc and Blowsoc for Lakeside Arts Centre’s concerts in the Djanogly Recital Hall and Djanogly Theatre.
