About the NCI
The Nottingham Centre for Infrastructure (NCI) is a research division of
the School of Civil Engineering
at the University of Nottingham.
Other research groups or divisions of the school include the Pavement
and Geotechnics Engineering division and the Institute
of Engineering Surveying and Space Geodesy
The NCI has:

The NCI has a major Test Facility
This facility has well-established links with industry and offers:
- A strong floor with multi configurable loading frame
- 2000kN Servo hydraulic control universal testing machine
- Specialist skills in precision load, strain, displacement and remote
measurement systems
- Hydraulic flumes
- Concrete testing
- Non-destructive testing
- Tensile testing of steel and other metals
The NCI Provides an themed MSc in Infrastructure
An innovative course, started in September 2002, in which the degree title
can be augmented to include a ‘theme’ (MSc in Infrastructure : ‘Theme’).
A Significant amount of the course based on individual study to reflect
the specialism of the person and the theme.
