Project Title
(Ontogenesis
of) The Human Mirror Neuron System
Project Details
I currently
use transcranial magnetic stimulation and functional magnetic resonance
imaging to explore the development of the mirror neuron system and the
role of the posterior parietal cortex (PPC) in this process. Specifically,
I aim to study the role of the visuomotor transformations and multisensory
integrations performed by PPC in the resonance of the premotor cortices
during action observation. Hopefully my studies will go some way in furthering
our understanding about dysfunction in the mirror neuron system in autism
spectrum disorders
