All have been awarded scholarships based on academic ability, to study for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in schools and departments right across the University.

The University of Nottingham is one of the most popular in the UK among overseas students, with more than 8,000 studying at its UK campuses and another 8,000 at its campuses in Asia. It offers a large pool of scholarships to attract the very best international applicants from around the world.

It has one of the widest scholarship portfolios of any UK university, from a variety of sources including internal University awards, external bodies and jointly-funded awards.

Among the most prestigious of awards are those that are jointly-funded by both the University and external sponsors, such as the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Open Society Foundation (OSF), Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), Islamic Development Bank, PECK, Fulbright Commission, Marshall Aid and Santander.

Representatives of many of the University’s co-sponsors are invited to the events on November 23 and 24, to give them an opportunity to meet with the scholars and to thank them for their continued support.

Vincenzo Raimo, Director of the International Office at The University of Nottingham, said: “We received a large number of outstanding applications for scholarships this year, so for a student to be successful in gaining a scholarship is a huge achievement. They have all done fantastically well, and we look forward to celebrating their success.”

Described by The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2011 as ‘the embodiment of the modern international university’, The University of Nottingham is a large and vibrant community of students from more than 150 countries of the world, studying in schools across the institution.

It also has campuses in the city of Ningbo, China, and near to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, with a combined total of more than 8,000 students studying in English for University of Nottingham degrees.
