Nottingham University Business School has featured in the first global ranking of executive MBA programmes produced by theEconomist.

Nottingham was placed 40th in the world and 6th in the UK by the inaugural ranking, which measured business schools on the personal development and education experience and career development opportunities offered by their executive programmes.

The Economist invited all business schools that are already ranked in its annual Global Top 100 MBA rankings to take part in this new executive ranking, which draws on data from a survey of schools’ Executive MBA students and alumni from the previous three years, as well as information directly provided by the school.

Ambitious execs

The ranking looks specifically at 27 criteria, including the quality and diversity of students, the quality of the faculty, the percentage of students who receive a promotion after they graduate and the average salary increase graduates can expect.

Nottingham University Business School’s Executive MBA offers an advanced management education programme for ambitious executives and managers with the potential to become leaders.

The school also offers a range of carefully-targeted, specialist Executive MBAs in Entrepreneurship, Healthcare and Corporate Social Responsibility.

In addition to those MBAs included in the rankings, the school also offers an Executive MSc in Global Supply Chain Management.

The school’s Executive MBA programmes, which are underpinned by research and teaching excellence, also offer the opportunity for managers to develop a global perspective by opting to study for part of their programme on the school’s MBA courses running in Malaysia or Singapore.

Career progression

Alumni from the programmes wishing to continue their professional development can continue to develop their knowledge and skills by taking advantage of the opportunity to study further MBA modules at half the usual cost through Nottingham University Business School’s Executive MBA Alumni Professional Development initiative.

Nottingham MBA students also have access to the school’s specialist Postgraduate Careers Service to help them review, explore and plan their future career path.

Nottingham University Business School recently celebrated re-accreditation by the globally-respected European Quality Improvement System – EQUIS – an accreditation scheme for leading providers of business education run by the European Foundation for Management Development in Brussels.

Only 142 business schools in 39 countries have achieved EQUIS accreditation and Nottingham is the only one to be awarded accreditation for its business schools in three locations — its campuses in the UK, Malaysia and China.
