Nottingham Lakeside Arts is bringing together an army of talented students from The University of Nottingham’s three campuses to host the first ever Tri-Campus Arts Festival.

This huge project will bring together students from the University’s campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia in a unique arts programme from the 8 – 17 June 2015.

This exciting 10-day programme has emerged after members of the Nottingham Lakeside Arts team met students involved in a range of music, theatre, visual and digital arts and photography clubs at The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) and The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC), and looked at how the campuses could work together.

Global talent

Now, 30 representatives from these groups and societies will be jetting over to the UK campus to work with The University of Nottingham Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, and members of the award-winning Nottingham New Theatre.

During the festival there will be a programme of workshops, arts masterclasses and rehearsals led by industry professionals, with public performances taking place at the Djanogly Theatre and Nottingham’s Albert Hall.

There will be a series of dramatic productions – such as a performance of selected highlights of the Shakespeare favourite ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ by drama students from UNNC and musical concerts, including a GALA Concert from the University Symphony Orchestra and University Choir, featuring former young musician of the year Natalie Clein.

Shona Powell, Director of Nottingham Lakeside Arts, said: “This is a real opportunity to showcase the amazing talent across all three of our campuses. The University has always recognised and embraced the exciting challenges and unique opportunities offered by a truly international education, and so it seems a logical step to embrace the artistic talent we have across the globe. There really will be something for everyone during this 10 day event and we look forward to hearing what people think of it.”
