About NIMRC

NIMRC has been rated by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) as an internationally leading research centre and has global reach through the University of Nottingham’s campuses in Malaysia and China.

The Centre was established in 2001 with £6.15 million funding from EPSRC and attracted an additional £4.7million from its industrial partners over the following five years. A further £9.8 million EPSRC funding was then secured with £4.8 million from industrial contributions.

Our researchers are developing knowledge driven manufacturing to create high value products, new methods, materials, processes and systems within the recently established Institute for Advanced Manufacturing, Institute for Aerospace Technology and EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Composites.

They work with innovative companies of all sizes from a wide range of sectors, including aerospace, automotive, instrumentation, defense, medical, power engineering, sustainable energy, textiles and clothing, recycling and consumer products to respond with world class expertise and high technology resources to match industrial needs.
