Biography

Becky is an experienced registered nurse who has worked in a range of health care settings since qualifying from Nottingham School of Nursing in 1981. Particular focus of nursing care has been in a range of end of life care settings which include working with Marie Curie Cancer Care as a community team leader, Sue Ryder in-patient care and NHS specialist palliative care.

Current Research

Becky is currently leading a project to evaluate a range of end of life care learning events being delivered across the East Midlands regions. This project is sponsored by the East Midlands SHA and the National End of Life Care Programme. The Evaluation Tools have been published at http://www.mylearningspace.me.uk/ and are currently being tested using a mixed methods approach.

Becky is also working as part of the Sue Ryder Care Centre research team on a multinational project 'Care in last days of lie: perspectives on decision making'.
