Biography

Worked in children's clinical practice for a number of years developing specialist skills in children's cancer care, haematology and bone marrow transplant.

Entered nurse education in mid 80s and has undertaken a number of roles since including leading the children's nursing team 1994 to 2001. More latterly has taken the lead for recruitment activities for pre-Registration nursing courses and also providing a support and advisory service for students completing their nursing course and entering employment.

Since August 2011 has been Admissions lead for pre Registration nursing courses with a particular remit to:

• Develop and lead strategies to recruit high calibre applicants to pre Registration nursing programmes. This includes:
• Setting and implementing Admissions policy for BSc, MNursSci and GEN
• Forming alliances with senior staff in both health and education sectors
• Organising and leading working groups of School staff (both academic and support staff) to develop initiatives
• Working collaboratively to integrate business and academic perspectives in recruitment
