Funding of dissertation modules via the Learning Beyond Registration contract

East Midlands Strategic Health Authority has informed us that, as a result of the unprecedented demand for modules funded by the contract for Learning Beyond Registration (LBR), they are undertaking a review of modules provided within the contract.

The review is ongoing but they have already decided that funding for dissertation modules will not in future be available through the LBR contract. This decision will be effective for the 2011/12 academic year and does not affect any dissertation modules which have already been confirmed for the 2010/11 academic year.

Students wishing to undertake a dissertation in the 2011/12 academic year may want to consider applying to their employing organisation’s education lead for funds or self funding.

The University is currently working to develop fee and billing arrangements for students who want to self-fund and we will release more information about this in due course. In the meantime if you have any questions about dissertation funding please contact Tina Smith in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Physiotherapy on 0115 8 230 841 or email tina.smith@nottingham.ac.uk

Funding

Fully funded places are available to health and social care professionals working in the East Midlands and having the support of their manager. These places are funded through the East Midlands Healthcare Workforce Deanery (SHA) contract with The University of Nottingham. Once you have approval from your manager to apply for the course, either complete the online application form or call (0115) 823 1213 . Alternatively, if you are from outside of the region's contract or wish to self-fund, either complete the online application form or call (0115) 823 1213. An invoice will then be issued.
