Learning Beyond Registration prospectus

Learning Beyond Registration (LBR) is a means by which health and social care professionals can develop their skills, knowledge and practice to ensure that patient/client care remains dynamic and contemporary. Through our range of programmes students are able to study full time or part time, whether newly qualified or have several years of experience in practice. Individual modules can be available to study on a stand-alone basis.

Health service providers increasingly require practitioners to hold a first degree. All health and social care practitioners have a responsibility for maintaining and developing professional competence throughout their career - to ensure that they are equipped to respond to patients/clients changing expectations within the diverse context of care delivery.

Flexibility is promoted through the use of negotiated, open, distance and work-based learning solutions. Students are valued as partners in learning and their wealth of personal, professional and educational experiences are built upon and developed.

Supporting students to achieve their maximum potential and contribute to the excellence in health and social care is the key aim of all programmes. Our staff are committed to supporting students to achieve their full potential in order to enhance patient/client care. Academics are committed to their field through research which underpins the delivery of this contemporary and dynamic curriculum. The programmes are developed in liaison with NHS colleagues and education purchasers with input from health and social care users and carers to provide a flexible and developmental approach to Learning Beyond Registration.
