Higher Education Academy

Previously known as the Learning and Teaching Support Network (LTSN), the Higher Education Academy runs "a network of 24 subject centres, based in higher education institutions throughout the UK, offering subject-specific expertise and information on learning and teaching". The purpose of the LTSN is that each Subject Centre should be a 'one-stop shop' for e-learning practitioners in the subject area looking for resources and advice. The following centres are of specific interest to staff in the School of Nursing:

Association for Learning Technology (ALT)

Founded back in 1993, ALT is based at Oxford Brookes University and aims to bring together "practitioners, researchers, and policy makers in learning technology" in all subject areas. ALT runs regular workshops on e-learning issues, holds a large and prestigious annual conference, and prints a range of publications including the peer-reviewed journal ALT-J.
