Nottingham Potential

Ambition Nottingham

Ambition Nottingham is a free scheme for students in years 9-13, run by The University of Nottingham. The aim of the scheme is to support entry to The University of Nottingham, or other research-intensive universities, by offering a range of experiences and opportunities that will help you prepare for and progress to higher education.

Ambition Nottingham is now complemented by the new Sutton Scholars programme for students in years 7-8.

Pre-16 Ambition Nottingham

Pre-16 Ambition Nottingham

At Pre-16, Ambition Nottingham provides support for students as they progress through years 9-11, enabling these students and their families to make informed decisions about their future studies.
This programme is currently open only to schools in Nottingham City.
Scheme participants will attend:
  • a series of interactive advice and guidance sessions
  • revision activities designed to help students achieve their potential

Post-16 Ambition Nottingham

Post-16 Ambition Nottingham
This programme for Post-16 students is open to all state/maintained schools in the Midlands.
At Post-16, scheme participants can explore the university experience by choosing from:
  • a variety of subject taster days
  • masterclasses
  • information workshops

In Year 13, students are supported through the UCAS process and transition to higher education with a selection of preparation sessions and revision activities.

Our leaflet has further information about the activities, eligibility and entry to the scheme.
