Welcome to the Division of Nursing
We offer many courses and degrees for educating nurses.
If your ambition is to become a nurse then we have undergraduate and postgraduate nursing courses for you to consider. You may want to visit us at one of our regular open days to find out more about your options and nursing. Open days are held at different locations in the region.
If you're already a nurse or other health and social care professional, why not consider one of our professional (Learning Beyond Registration) courses, further postgraduate study or research.
Student fees and finance
Students on pre-registration nursing courses (funded by the NHS and leading to registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council) will usually have their tuition fees paid in full and receive financial support in the form of a bursary and access to a student loan.
The Department of Health has indicated that a new package of financial support will take effect from September 2012 and only apply to students who begin training on or after this date.
Eligible students will receive a non-means tested grant of £1,000, a means tested bursary of up to £4,395 and the non-means tested Reduced Rate student loan of up to £2,324. Different rates of means tested bursary and loan will apply according to where a student lives or studies. More information can be found on the NHS Careers website. To be eligible you must have Home Status and meet the NHS and SLC criteria.
For information about fees and finance for other programmes across the University please visit the Student Fees and Finance website.
