Online Mentor Update

Aims and Learning Outcomes

Aim:

This update aims to ensure that mentors have sufficient information to enable them to continue their role for the future, and meet the NMC requirements for an annual update.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Review the NMC "Standard for Supporting Learning and Assessment in Practice" (N.M.C. 2008) and its impact on mentorship practice.
2. Raise awareness of the changes to documentation for practice based assessment including the introduction of the Ongoing Achievement Record and the Essential Skills Cluster assessments.
3. Identify support mechanisms available to mentors.
4. Support mentors to reflect on their current practice and integrate new information in order to develop future practice and meet NMC requirements.
